Winemakers Patrick and Nicolas Laugère have operated this estate since it was entrusted to them by their uncle Marcel in 1987. Marcel also left them the task of maintaining the cadole, or stone vigneron shelter, which overlooks the vineyards. These shelters are common in Mâconnais, but this one is special – located above an underground river. A pit dug into the ground inside the cadole provides a vital water source for the vines during periods of extreme drought.
To thank Marcel for this ingenuity, Patrick and Nicolas named this modern organic Mâcon after him. It has a mineral, expressive nose with notes of citrus fruit and white flowers. On the palate, you’ll find full-bodied fleshy white fruit and decadent creaminess.
