Description
Les Turbulents’ Chenin Blanc Pet Nat 2023 is a natural wine crafted by Thomas Puéchavy, in the Loire region in France. This sparkling wine made as a Pet Nat is made with 100% Chenin Blanc grapes. The bubbles are quite strong, and there is a dominat yeasty touch throughout.
Who is Thomas Puechavy?
Thomas Puéchavy is a talented French winemaker working in the Vouvray appellation of the Loire Valley. However, he is not allowed to class his wines as Vouvray because whilst his vineyards are located in the right place, his cellar is a few hundred metres outside the appellation zone. He doesn’t mind, and favours the freedom of Vin de France anyway 😉
Producing just 8000 bottles over 3 hectares featuring Limestone rather than clay, the dominate grape he grows is of course Chenin Blanc, and he is very good at it! He makes wines both dry and off-dry (Demi Sec) as well as Pet Nats too!
