Description
The Peterson Army Filter Sandblasted 05 Fishtail brings together one of Peterson’s most recognisable shapes with the practicality of both an army mount and a 9mm filter system.
The 05 is a distinctive Calabash shape and a fine example of Peterson’s traditional House Style. Its tall, bell-shaped bowl flares towards the rim, complemented by a high-set angular transition and broad, muscular shank. The result is a compact but substantial pipe with plenty of visual character.
A dark-stained sandblasted finish gives the briar a rugged texture, while the bright hand-shaped nickel army mount provides a traditional contrast between the bowl and black acrylic fishtail mouthpiece.
What makes the Army Filter series particularly interesting is its combination of 9mm filter drilling with Peterson’s army mount construction. The mount allows the mouthpiece to be carefully removed from the pipe while it is still warm, a practical feature not normally recommended with a conventional push-fit stem.
Measuring just 123mm in length, the 05 is relatively compact, although its substantial bowl and shank give it a reassuring 53g weight.
A characterful Peterson that combines traditional Irish pipe styling with practical 9mm filtration and the versatility of the classic army mount.
