Description
With more than 1,000 indigenous grape varieties, Italy is a treasure trove of wine styles. Gavi, Piedmont’s famous dry white, is made from Cortese; Pecorino brings zippy grapefruit flavours, and Fiano offers ripe melon richness. Among the reds, Chianti is the most famous, made from Sangiovese, while Salice Salentino’s Negroamaro grape is fast becoming a new favourite. Nero d’Avola completes the line-up with soft tannins and juicy cherry fruit.
