Description
Piak Rouge is a natural wine crafted by Bobinet, in the Loire region in France. This red wine is made with 100% Grolleau grapes, which offer a little spice and vegetal freshness, offering a bouquet of cranberry and violets whilst the palette delivers on red cherries, green bell peppers with some mild tannic structure than makes it very good value for a food wine.
How is Piak Rouge made?
Piak Rouge is 100% Grolleau, destemmed and made with two separate macerations: one lot spends about 10 days on skins, the other about 15 days in carbonic maceration (whole grapes fermenting inside the berry). The two are blended at pressing, then the wine rests for around 2 months in fibreglass tanks before bottling. That short, bright process is why it drinks so juicy.
