Description
Blaufränkisch Kalkstein by Claus Preisinger is an excellent value, juicy red wine well worth a place in your fridge for weekday dinners! Perfect with most foods and drinkable by itself too – this is great value bottle.
Whilst excellent value, we have noticed this Blaufränkisch Kalkstein is also very ageworthy, so worth getting a few to keep in the cellar!
Production details of Blaufränkisch Kalkstein: Blaufränkisch Kalkstein is made by Claus Preisinger in Gols, Burgenland, Austria. The wine is 100% Blaufränkisch from Kalkstein (limestone) soils. Claus works 19 hectares using a lunar-calendar approach. The wine sees open vat ferment, then ageing in used 500-litre barrels. Made for everyday drinking with the structure to age.
Tasting Notes: We have not yet tried this vintage of Blaufränkisch Kalkstein by Claus Preisinger, but we hear it has notes of red cherry, fine red berry, light spice and a fresh limestone-driven lift.
