Description
Fresh – Red berries – Acid
The Durrmann family make some of our favourite wines and we always look forward to a new vintage dropping. Andre, Anna and son Yann create their wines in Andlau, on the slopes of the Vosges mountains in Alsace. The vineyards have been organic since 1998 and they’ve been producing sulphur-free cuvees since 2007.
This delightful sparkling is named with an elaborate pun on the wine being a little crazy and the historic name for Pinot Gris, Tokay d’Alsace. For appelation reasons, this is technically white, but as Yann notes, “Anyone can see the colour themselves!” Refreshing, full of red berries, gentle grip and trademark Alsatian acidity.
Grape: Pinot Gris
Pair with: Salt & pepper squid, spring rolls with sweet chilli sauce
