La Rural – Malvasia de Stiges 2024

Malvasia de Stiges 2024 is a natural wine crafted by La Rural, in the Catalonia region in Spain. This mildly orange wine is made with 100% Malvasia grapes, as the name suggests and features no added sulphites.

This wine features a nice, mild reduction and good acidity for the grape. Stone fruits dominate with touches of herbs and wet pebble minerality. Less invasive on aromatics than some other Malvasia wines, but still with a good twang on the finish for an easy drinking sipper!

Here in their Malvasia de Stiges 2024, the grapes are sourced from young vines around Santes Creus, Alt Camp in Catalonia. These vines are planted at roughly 360 metres altitude on limestone and clay baxed soils. The grapes are destemmed before they are macerated on the skins for a brief 3 days, then fermented in stainless steel. After gentle pressing, the wine is then aged in stainless steel until ready for bottling.
