Description
Grenabar 2023 is a vibrant and fun natural wine crafted by Alice Bouvot of Domaine de L’Octavin, in the Jura region in France. This Rosé wine is made with Grenache grapes, which are grown by Claude Ughetto in the Vaucluse, which is a sub region of Provence. We also believe their could be some Carignan in this vintage.
This Grenabar wine is super fun, and probably our favourite of her Negoce range (usually identified as having gnomes on the labels, whilst her more serious domaine fruit tends not to). We love the INSANELY YUMMY COLOUR! It really does pop with colour from the glass! (see other photo from a transparent bottle, we are offering the dark glass bottle)
And the flavour expression is pretty crazy too! Not just super juicy, but with notes of sour cherry car sweets, hibiskus, forest leaves, mild rhubarb, grenadine, vanilla and integrated V.A (Volatile Acidity) With some more air it sometimes offers tropical notes plus hints of tomato as well – all alongside that typical L’Octavin edge as well.
Fresh. Fruity. Fun!
Finish in one sitting, do not leave overnight
Documentary on Domaine de l’Octavin
This was one of our earliest natural winemaker documentaries, shot mainly on iPhone. Visiting Alice Bouvot of Domaine de l’Octavin in Arbois, Jura again was a true pleasure. Alice is a gentle soul, thoughtful and somewhat spiritual. Couple this with her dedication to relentless hard work and pursuit of keeping her vineyards in the healthiest, happiest state and its no surprise Domaine de l’Octavin wines are highly sought after around the world.
