Kontakt by Philip Lardot is a natural wine made in Mosel with Müller-Thurgau grapes.
Production details of Kontakt: Kontakt is made by Philip Lardot in the Mosel region of Germany. Philip is Finnish-born and Amsterdam-raised. The current blend uses 50% Riesling, 35% Müller-Thurgau and 15% Auxerrois, given a cold maceration and co-fermented together. The wine ages 8 months in a mix of barriques and tonneau, then 7 months in tank. Philip doesn’t block malolactic fermentation (unusual in the Mosel), which adds richness.
Tasting Notes: We have not yet tried this vintage of Kontakt by Philip Lardot, but we hear it has notes of honeydew, orange zest, coconut, chives and a crisp mineral edge.
