Description
Citrus – Herbs – Saline
Pachino, Sicily-based winemaker Salvatore ‘Turi’ Marino focuses largely on local varieties, with a commitment to the region’s soil and the balance of nature, and a non-interventionist approach in the cellar. From five generations of winemakers, Turi has long known the phrase “wine is made in the vineyard” – his vines are planted as freestanding bushes and cultivated using the most natural methods, entirely by hand.
Turi Bianco is based on Catarratto, a local indigenous grape (Turi is the nickname for Salvatore in Sicilian). Fresh, crunchy and minerality, with notes of citrus peel, aromatic herbs and a hint of saline. This is a wine that clearly hails from a land of sun and wind, caressed by the waves of the sea.
