Description
Riverland 2023 is a natural wine crafted by Aristotelis Ke Anthoula (Australia), in the Riverland region in Australia. This 13.7% red wine is made with 40% Grenache, 40% Nero d’Avola and 20% Saperavi grapes, which is unusual as Saperavi is a Georgian grape unusually seen so far out!
These are hardy, drought-tolerant varieties perfectly suited to the hot, dry climate of the Riverland
Riverland 2023 has been mostly destemmed with some whole bunches, co-fermented. Half pressed after a few weeks, the rest left for extended maceration. Aged in old 500L puncheons before bottling.
WE LOVE THIS SMOOTH RED! What is interesting is the 20% Saperavi really comes out despite the minimal use of it in the blend, with cassis and chocolate touches alongside dark cherry, blackcurrants, vanilla, clove and earth. Really rich and great!
