An aromatic blend that on paper would make more sense in Alsace than from Nelson on the northern tip of the South Island. But I learnt the French were some of the first to plant vines here, so makes sense total sense, and these grapes do well in this sun-kissed part of the island too. Here things are restrained, the florals kept in check, the fruit heavily citrus leaning, with some bite and plenty of freshness. A wine you could think deeply about or pour carelessly. Either way, you’ll feel more nourished once the bottle’s done. ABV: 12.5%
