Description
Place: Etna, Sicily, Italy
Grape: Carricante
Vibe: Heady
Carricante at 800m of altitude, a particularly unique site where soil is composed of volcanic sand and stratification of lapilli, small rock fragments deposited after volcanic eruptions. Cool. Lo-fi winemaking, hi-fi flavour. Destemmed and soaked in plastic for 36 hours before off to rest in steel for 9 months. Bright but with an incredibly smooth and soothing texture. This is one heck of a wine. Acacia honey, spiced and bruised but golden fruit. Lots going on, tiny amounts made. ABV: 12%
